STUFFED PUPPET THEATRE was founded in Melbourne in 1976 by Australian actor and puppeteer Neville Tranter, shortly after he finished his drama studies at the Darling Downs Institute of Advanced Education. In 1978, Stuffed Puppet Theatre was invited to perform in the Festival of Fools in Amsterdam. After the Festival, Mr. Tranter remained in Holland and developed the company into the solo adult puppet theatre it is today. Beginning with Studies in Fantasy (1982), Mr. Tranter has created, performed and toured a number of innovative solo works, including The Seven Deadly Sins (1984), Manipulator and Underdog (1985), Room 5 (1988) and Macbeth (1990).
