Paul Zaloom collects the debris of American culture and sculpts it into a theater of trash. Labeled the "Junk Genius," his puppets are castoff appliances and general junk, which he animates with extraordinary dexterity. Not sure whether to call himself a political satirist, puppeteer, or performance artist, he is known and loved for his fresh, playful approach to puppetry and his wicked verbal wit.
